David Skilleter, who went by the persona name of Leopold von Drausberg, was a member of the chivalry of the Companie of Knights Bachelor and the friend of a number of the Templars.
Unfortunately, David passed away in 1998. A number of Brisbane re-enactors arranged for his arms and armour to be donated and placed on display at the Abbey Museum, after his family sought help in creating a suitable memorial to David.
In October 2014, the Templars donated their time to the Abbey Museum to polish and refurbish David’s gear.
A fearsome fighter and a teller of tales, Leopold will long be remembered.
